CENTERVILLE — An information night to explain  what it’s like to be a foster parent will be held Monday, Aug. 5, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Centerville Branch of the Davis County Library, 45 S. 400 West in Centerville.

“There is a continuing need for foster families to care for children of all ages and to keep siblings together,” said Brenda Durtschi, Northern Utah region coordinator.

In addition, a Fostering Teens Forum will be held Monday, Aug. 19, 6-8 p.m., at the Department of Child and Family Services, 950 25th Street, Ogden.

Such issues as what it’s like to foster an older child or teenager will be discussed, Durtschi said. RSVP is required to attend this event by calling 1-877-505-5437. Dinner will be provided but space is limited.

Also, classes for new foster parents will be held in Bountiful in September. For more information about this or other upcoming events, call 1-801-392-1114.
