Davis 78, Syracuse 62
In a tightly contested game throughout, the Darts outscored Syracuse 24-12 in the final quarter to open Region 1 play with a win. Jesse Wade led Davis with 20 points and Cole Hally scored 18 points with six rebounds in the win.
Viewmont 66, Granger 51
The Vikings used a strong first half and a solid second half in order to beat the Lancers in Region 2 action. Austin Johnson led the Vikings with 19 points and McKay Richins added 10 points in the win. The Vikings are still unbeaten in Region 2 play dating back to last season.
Bountiful 48, Clearfield 43
Bountiful defended its home turf by knocking off Clearfield in its Region 6 opener. Sam Merrill and Zach Seljaas led the scoring with 20 and 12 points, respectively, in the win. Jordan Bleak scored eight points.
East 59, Woods Cross 58
The Wildcats fought through a 14-point first quarter deficit to take the lead after the third quarter, but still ended up taking the loss in their region opener. Skyler Farnes led the Wildcats with 16 points and Hayden Grant added 10 points in the Wildcats loss.
Davis 47, Syracuse 38
The Lady Darts extended their winning streak to seven games as they took down the Titans 47-38. Jessica Richardson finished with a double-double, scoring 10 points with 10 rebounds, and Natalie Mecham added another 10 points in the Darts’ win.
Viewmont 57, Granger 42
The Lady Vikings won five straight with a win over the Lady Lancers. Caitlyn Larsen and Katie Toole each scored 21 points in the Vikings victory. Larsen added four rebounds, seven assists and five steals with her points and Toole had three rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Bountiful 48, Clearfield 33
Bountiful used a strong second half in order to take down the Falcons in Region 6 action. Kennedy Merrick scored 18 points with six steals and Tiana Dougher had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
East 43, Woods Cross 42
The Lady Wildcats’ first half lead turned into a second half deficit as Woods Cross fell by a single point Friday night. Hannah Petersen tied for the game-high in scoring with 14 points, Aubree Riddle scored 11 points in the loss.
