Sean Barton and Skyler Farnes combined to rush for 331 yards on 34 carries with two touchdowns as the Wildcats won their third straight game Friday. Farnes’ 18-carry, 141-yards rushing also included 161 passing yards and two total touchdowns. Barton rushed for 190 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown and Filipo Mokofisi had two receptions for 74 yards and touchdown catch.
Mokofisi and Junior Vailolo led the defense with eight tackles each. Mokofisi also had two sacks in the game. Overall the Wildcats recorded eight sacks and had two interceptions, one of which turned into a touchdown by Vailolo, who scampered 70 yards for the Wildcats’ final score of the night. Twenty of Woods Cross’ 26 points were scored in the first quarter.
Layton 37, Viewmont 6
The Vikings are still searching for their first win of the season after dropping a game to Layton 37-6 Friday night. Viewmont’s Jay Gibson and Aaron Dalton accounted for the Vikings’ only touchdown in the game, an eight-yard pass play that occurred in the third quarter. Layton’s Willie Uasilaa carried the ball 36 times for 212 yards and four rushing touchdowns to lead the Lancers’ offense.
