LAYTON – A Bountiful man found guilty of aggravated sexual abuse of a child will be sentenced on April 30.

Michael Lon Gailey, 43, was found guilty on Thursday, March 20, of inappropriately touching a girl with whom he held a position of trust. between May 6, 2008 and June 30, 2010.

Gailey maintained his innocence throughout the trial that was held in 2nd District Court in Layton.

Gailey was arrested and booked into the Davis County Jail in January of 2013 for the abuse that the victim testified began when she was 11 years old. She is now 16.

Attorneys on both sides agreed to dismiss three of six counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child.
