I was thinking about why I like to travel so much. There are so many reasons why. I love taking my kids to fun places and to places where they will learn about other cultures. I love showing them the amazing locations, cities, beaches and historical sites. As a child I traveled to California and went camping a lot but did not fly on a plane until I was 14. My son Spencer’s first passport expired before he was 14! As a family we were so blessed to go to amazing places like Iguacu Falls in Brazil, whale watching in Puerto Vallarta, boogie boarding in Hawaii, incredible Disneyworld, historic Washington D.C. and cruising—which of course our boys loved. The memories we have created as a family traveling are priceless to us and will never be forgotten.

Lori and I have also made endless memories exploring the world. We will always remember our tour to Israel, our cruise to Scandinavia and Russia, our many trips to South America, relaxing and cruising in the Caribbean, exploring Alaska, our trips to Hawaii, seeing the fall colors in New England, taking our family many times to Mexico, experiencing the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza and Tulum and many more wonderful trips. We have looked out over Paris from the top of the Eifel Tower, we have walked where our ancestors walked in Denmark, we have stayed at fabulous hotels and we have stayed at hotels that have scared us to death.

As I think back on our travels, I smile as I recreate the memories in my mind. I think about the fun, the learning, the romance, the people and the places that we have come to know. I think about the food from around the world that we have eaten and some that we were not brave enough to try. I think about the people we have met and their ways of life that are sometimes very different from ours. I think about the animals, birds and sea life that we have seen up close. Every trip we have taken has taught us something interesting, has exposed us to something new, has given us a great time and has left us with beautiful photos and wonderful stories.
