Geography winner competes at state

NORTH SALT LAKE — Legacy Preparatory Academy student Kadin Worthen will be competing in the 2012 Utah National Geographic Bee held at Thanksgiving Point on March 30.Worthen is a semifinalist in the competition sponsored by Google and Plum Creek.

Students in fourth to eighth grades answered questions such as “What word is used to describe the side of a mountain that faces the prevailing winds?” or “Which city on the Great Lakes has the largest population?” (Answers: windward and Chicago)
