BOUNTIFUL — So, you’ve decided it’s time to get fit. 

The South Davis Recreation Center can help you narrow that goal down, thanks to lots of class choices in a variety of areas, from swimming to racquetball. 

 Here is a list of fitness opportunities, both in organized classes and otherwise:

• Swimming Lessons and Swimming Possibilities

• Learn-to-Swim lessons are offered continually in 40-minute, twice-a-week sessions, with a  new session starting May 13 with morning and afternoon time slots. The next Saturday-only session starts May 4. 

• The Parent-Tot program is for 6 months-3-year-old toddlers

• Adult swimming lessons are for mature teens and adult swimmers of all abilities, twice a week in the evenings, starting May 13.

• Adaptive aquatics offers individualized, personalized instruction based on experience and ability in the water for those with special needs.

• Scout merit badges can be earned in swimming, lifesaving or first aid

• Springboard diving has beginner-intermediate levels

• Private swimming lessons gives one-on-one or semi-private instruction in 30 minute sessions

• Squashball offers water polo instruction

• Water polo club - South Davis Terrapins, who compete against 24 other junior and high school-aged teams.

• Novice water polo is for ages 12-14

• Lifeguard training is for those who will be 15 or older by session’s end

• Water safety instructor and CPR First Aid training are available.

• A Master’s swim team for those aged 18 and up is offered along with South Davis Tsunami, for advanced swimmers.

• Many water fitness classes are offered from interval training to Push-It, power aquatics, aqua Zumba and aquatic kickbox.

• Fitness classes

• Yoga and restorative yoga

• Zumba, including Zumba for kids ages 4 and up, Zumba tone and monthly Senteo 

• Total cardio

• Turbo kick

• Multi step

• Step and Step & Tone

• Cardio boot camp

• Core & More

• Silver Sneakers for seniors, including yoga stretch, cardio circuit and more

• Other fitness facilities

• Weight room including weight and cardio machines

• Racquetball-Wallyball courts

• Personal training with one of six trainers, with initial fitness assessment and training sessions available

• Indoor track for walking and jogging
