FARMINGTON — Usually the person celebrating a birthday gets the gifts.
When it’s Harmons grocery stores, they’re the ones who gave the gift as part of their 80th anniversary celebration.
The locally-owned grocery chain, which has a store in Farmington’s Station Park, presented a big check to the Utah Southern Idaho chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.
Funds were raised via donations given by customers at check stands, through bratwurst and hot dog sales on weekends, and a golf tournament and bike team sponsorship.
Harmons became a strong presence in Davis County in the spring of 2011 with the opening of its Station Park store, which includes everything from a fine dining opportunity to cooking classes, and more.
