WOODS CROSS — A helicopter student and his instructor walked away uninjured Monday after the helicopter they were flying crashed at SkyPark Airport shortly after noon.
The helicopter fell about 50 feet, skidded and rolled three or four times just east of the runway, Matthews said.
Police and South Davis Metro Fire Agency personnel were called to the scene, but neither man was taken to the hospital. The airport was closed down for about three hours, Matthews said.
The investigation was turned over to the Federal Aeronautics Administration and the National Safety Transportation Board.
