BOUNTIFUL – Utah High School Hockey teams are on a short break for the Thanksgiving holiday moratorium, but each will play games before season’s end.

That season is at a halfway point for Viewmont, Davis and the Davis County independent hockey clubs, who all played games Monday night.

The Davis Darts stepped into Monday night’s game against Cache Valley Independent hoping to start a winning streak after beating DCI last week.

Their attempt to even their record at 3-3 faltered, however. They tied with the Wild 2-2 after scoring two third-period goals.

Down 2-0 after surrendering goals in the first two periods, Davis’ Jacob Adams scored the first goal to close the gap to 2-1 with only 2:50 left to play in the game. Less than one minute later, Colin Ecsedy and Mitchell Adams teamed up to score the game-tying goal and send the game into overtime.

On the game-tying goal, Adams earned the assist after passing the puck to Ecsedy, who scored his second goal of the season in six games.

DCI’s battle with Sky View at the Ice Sheet in Ogden Monday night didn’t end well for the Eagles, who dropped their sixth straight game by losing 6-3 to the Bobcats.
