That day, a near-full slate of soccer games is scheduled to be played as Davis, Viewmont, Woods Cross and Bountiful take the field with their respective teams.
The Davis High Darts, who ended last season with a 3-0 loss in the state 5A semi-final against eventual champion Alta, will get its season started Tuesday afternoon with a game against the Skyline Lady Eagles. The game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Skyline High School.
The Lady Eagles were considered one of the top teams in the 4A class, making it to the 4A girls’ soccer finals before losing to Timpanogos 1-0.
The Bountiful Lady Braves and Viewmont Lady Vikings begin their new season Tuesday afternoon against each other, beginning their annual rivalry at 3:30 p.m. at Millcreek Junior High.
Bountiful shared the Region 6 title with East High School last season, finishing 15-2-1 overall (9-1-0 in Region 6) while reaching the quarterfinals of the 4A girls’ soccer playoffs. The Lady Braves lost in a shootout to Skyline.
The Lady Vikings went through their initial season in Region 2 with an unblemished region record. They lost only one game during the regular season. Allowing only 10 goals to be scored against them all season, the Viewmont team fell short of a 5A girls’ soccer title for the second straight year after losing to Alta 1-0.
