On Friday morning some 270 residents were still without power in Davis County, according to Rocky Mountain Power spokesman David Eskelsen.
"We hope to have them all back up by 1 p.m.," he said.
He said crews were still assessing the total outages as of 10 a.m. on Friday.
In Bountiful, "We fared pretty well," according to Allen Johnson, director of Bountiful Light & Power Co.
"We had a handful of outages," he said. "Power would go out to a small section (of the city). We'd call our crews out, they'd get that fixed and go home, then we would call them out again." he said.
Hardest hit areas in Davis County seemed to be in Centerville and Farmington, where some estimates were 3,000 homes hit, Eskelsen said. Some outages were also reported in Fruit Heights and Layton.
Johnson said they sent crews home early on Thursday to get some rest before the winds hit and they may do the same Friday afternoon as more canyon winds are expected through the night Friday.
