Keith S. Aller passed away on May 28, 2014. All of his children sat with him that day, sharing stories, crying, and frequently, laughing out loud.
Keith was born to Keith Lamont Aller and Alleen Geddes Stephens Aller in Preston, Idaho on October 20, 1926. He lived there until the day he enlisted in the Marine Corps.
He married Daphne Jean Smith on August 31, 1947. They have four children, Hollie Aller Barenz, Robyn Aller Goeller (Rick), Keith (Monty) Lamont Aller (Cyndi) and Mathew Joseph Aller (Teresa).
He lied about his age and joined the US Marine Corps when he was 17. He was part of the 2nd Marine Division and served his country honorably during World War II in the Pacific Theater, which included the Battle of Saipan and the Battle of Tinian. He was part of the first group to enter Nagasaki, 25 days after the nuclear strike.
After returning home he graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Automotive Engineering and after teaching at Davis High School for a few years, went to work for Ford Motor Company for 40 years.
He loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, his dogs, cooking, skiing, gardening, hummingbirds, and running. Sometimes the order of those things changed. He was a runner before running was cool. He started skiing later in life and at the age of 70 became a ski instructor at Park City Mountain Resort.
