Kenneth A. Nessen, Lt. Colonel USAF (Ret), 92, loved God, Country and his family.  He passed away May 31, 2013 in Bountiful. 

Kenneth was born May 16, 1921, in Logan, Utah to Alvin and Zina Price Nessen. He married Barbara Dean Thomson on November 25, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 56 years, she preceded him in death. Married Doris Skinner on August 29, 2001. He was blessed to have two beautiful wives that he cherished.

He served for 23 years in the Air Force including service as a pilot in the Berlin Air Lift. He was an active member of the LDS Church, and served in many capacities including Stake President of the Frankfurt Germany Servicemen’s Stake and President of the San Bernardino CA Mission. He and his wife Bobbie also served a mission in Germany. He loved working in the Salt Lake Temple where he served until he was 90 years old. Kenneth was a talented artist and an avid gun collector. He loved traveling, spending time outdoors and took a keen interest in politics.

Ken is survived by wife, Doris; daughters, Louise (Robert) Hill, Patricia (Patty) Donohue, Eileen (Michael) Hock, Debra (Bob) Trythall and Julie Newren; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by wife, Bobbie; one grandchild, Robert Hill Jr.; and daughter, Lani Houtz.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Taylorsville 1st Ward, 4845 S. Woodhaven Drive (1365 W). Friends and family may call Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. and 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
