KAYSVILLE — The Davis Lady Darts and Viewmont Vikings softball teams pounded their way to victory on Tuesday afternoon, dispatching their respective opponents 21-4 and 18-1, respectively, to maintain first place in their respective regions.

Bountiful also picked up a strong win, an 8-0 victory over rival Woods Cross. The team improved to 9-0 in Region 6 play.

Darts crush Knights 21-4 to stay in first place

The Lady Darts picked up their third win in the last four games Tuesday afternoon as they cruised their way to a 17-run thumping of Northridge.

Entering the top of the fifth inning tied at 2-2, Davis scored seven runs in the fourth and 12 more in the fifth inning to force the mercy rule and end the game with the 21-4 win.

Breezy Roth and Payton Yerke hit home runs for the Darts, part of a 16-hit outing by Davis. 

The Lady Darts were also aided by five Northridge errors on the field. 

Cheyenne Norton picked up the win for Davis, her eighth of the season. Madee Godfrey took the loss.

 

Lady Vikings cruise to an 18-1 win over West

Viewmont scored six runs in the top of the fourth inning, then scored seven more in the fifth inning to finish off an 18-1 victory over West on Tuesday.

Trailing 1-0 after the first inning, the Lady Vikings scored four runs in the second inning and a single run in the third inning before combining for 13 runs in the fourth and fifth innings to end the game early.

Eliza Thornley picked up the win inside the circle, her 14th of the season. 

The win was Viewmont’s sixth straight and fifth in a row in Region 2 play. Viewmont won 11 of its last 12 games.

 

Lady Braves shut down Wildcats 8-0

Bountiful scored early and often in its Tuesday game against Woods Cross, scoring four first-inning runs and beating Woods Cross 8-0 at Bountiful’s home field.

Inside the circle, Belle Stoddard picked up the win by allowing just three hits. She also hit a double at the plate as part of a 14-hit outing for Bountiful.

Hanalee Robinson took the loss for the Lady Wildcats.

 

Upcoming games 

Davis and Woods Cross will both be on the road Thursday, taking on Syracuse and East, respectively. Viewmont will host Granger and Bountiful will face Highland at home.

Scores and statistics were reported by the respective teams.
