BOUNTIFUL — Lakeview Hospital here has been named one of the nation’s top 100 in the nation, and was one of just 17 in the U.S. to earn the Everest Award.
The 37-year-old hospital was one of three in Utah to be recognized as being in the top 100 by Truven Health Analytics, formerly known as Thomson Reuters.
The Everest Award is reserved for hospitals that have shown long-term improvement in quality, performance and patient satisfaction that have also had the highest one-year performance, according to a press release from the hospital. The designation puts Lakeview in an exclusive club — only .06 percent of U.S. hospitals belong.
Lakeview’s strength is in its focus on patient care, said hospital spokeswoman Tiffany Burnett. In addition to its remodeled 9,000-sqare-foot emergency room, the hospital has a robust orthopedics program and has earned special certification for its cardiovascular care.
