FARMINGTON — A Layton man was sentenced to one year in the Davis County Jail for shooting at teenagers last fall.

Media reports said Christopher James Church was sentenced Monday to serve one year in jail for firing multiple shots on Oct. 24. They were fired in the 1062 E. 2525 North area of Layton and Antelope Drive and Sunset Drive.

A pair of 17-year-old boys drove to the Layton Police Department, reporting they’d encountered Church and Brandon Brown, who is already serving a year in jail.

The boys said the encounter occurred on the east end of Antelope Drive when all of them were driving off-road in that area, law enforcement said.

The teens told police Brown and Church followed them in a Ford Explorer and shot at them when they drove away about 10:45 p.m. Oct. 24.

Mark Arrington, Church’s attorney, could not be reached for comment.
