We are writing this letter as four Republican legislators who have represented Bountiful in the Utah House of Representatives. Together we have served a total of 44 years in the Utah Legislature representing Bountiful’s values of good support for education and careful stewardship of Utah’s tax money.
We were disappointed to see the Chet Loftis campaign send out a letter from Jim Nielson attacking Dr. Ray Ward last Saturday. Each of us knows Dr. Ward personally, have had conversations with him in private, and have heard him speak in public settings.
In all of these settings, his approach has been consistent. Dr. Ward has advocated for state government to live within its means and reduce waste, for good support for public education, and for a plan to reduce the number of uninsured – with the best available proposal being the Healthy Utah Plan proposed by Governor Herbert.
We encourage voters to not give in to negative campaigning, but rather to support these principles of good education and efficient administration of our health care dollars by voting for Dr. Ray Ward in this election.
