CENTERVILLE — An evening celebrating books and those who create them is set for tonight, April 18, at Centerville Elementary.  The public is invited to the event, which will feature a local author and books created by the students themselves.

“Fly Away With Literacy,” is the theme of the evening, based on a book by William Joyce: “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mister Morris Lessmore.” The short film based on the book will be shown throughout the evening. The story emphasizes the message that no story is unimportant. Prizes donated by Simply Mac, TreeHouse Children’s Museum and the author William Joyce, will be awarded students who have reached reading goals.

The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school, 350 N. 100 East.
