BOUNTIFUL – As the weather starts to cool in Davis County, so does the fishing.
According to the latest fishing report released by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, fishing in most places in Davis County are reporting “slow” fishing conditions.
Some anglers, however, said they have found success with certain techniques.
At Bountiful Lake, a few anglers reported very slow fishing for all the fish available; however, one angler had success using a fly rod.
At Farmington Pond, anglers reported success using PowerBait in bright green, worms, or salmon eggs. Fishing there is reported as “fair.”
Holmes Creek Reservoir in Layton is reporting good conditions with a few anglers using jigs to catch their fish.
The reservoir has seen more than 5,000 rainbow trout stocked there recently, and Andy Adams Reservoir, located near Holmes Creek, has also been restocked.
Both the Kaysville Ponds and the Jensen Nature Park Pond in Syracuse are reporting slow fishing conditions. Smaller bass can be caught, but sparingly.
