Combine two cheesy favorites in to one delicious snack: Mac & Cheese, and Cheese Doodles. Great for a party appetizer, side dish or snack!
1 box of Mac and Cheese (made according to directions)
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp white pepper
2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup crushed cheese puffs (such as Cheetos)
The night before: Line a 8x8” pan with foil. Make the mac and cheese according to directions and pour it in to the prepared pan, tampering down flat with the back of a spoon or spatula and refrigerate overnight.
The next day when preparing: Mix the flour and spices together in a small bowl. Beat the two eggs in another small bowl. Crush the cheese puffs in a Ziploc bag and pour in a third bowl.
Pull up the foil in the mac and cheese pan so that the mixture comes out in one flat piece. Cut with a knife in to 1” squares. Take each square and dredge in the flour mixture, then egg, then roll in the crushed cheese puffs.
Place on a cookie sheet that has been preheated to 350 degrees and bake for approximately 16 minutes, turning every 4 minutes.
