SUNSET - Davis County officials say a man was hit and killed by a FrontRunner train in Sunset Tuesday evening.

According to Davis Dispatch, the man was it at 2300 North 500 West in Sunset, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dispatch officials said the man was a pedestrian.

The Utah Transit authority said a bus bridge was activated between the Clearfield and Roy stations while investigators cleared the scene.

Sunset Police Chief Ken Eborn later confirmed to the Clipper that the incident was being treated as a suicide, after investigators  interviewed the man's roommates and family.

Eborn said the 43-year-old man had appeared despondent earlier in the day.

According to Eborn, no one riding the train was hurt or in any danger.
