FARMINGTON — Students who will be attending junior high in Davis School District after being home-schooled or attending charter schools can take a national test to help determine course placement next year.

The test will be given March 18 and 19 on the second floor of the Kendell Building, 100 E. 100 North in Farmington. Testing begins at 3:30 p.m. and will take less than an hour.

Test scores will be used to recommend students for math placement where they are most likely to experience success, according to a press release from the school district. While students may self-select whether to take seventh-grade math or seventh-grade honors math, they are encouraged to follow the test recommendation.

An accelerated program that allows students to complete four years of math while in junior high is also available to students who score extremely high.

To register for the test, parents should send an e-mail to with the name of their sixth-grade student and the date he or she will take the test.
