FARMINGTON — Construction is on schedule for the new county administration building and library. By early fall, both buildings should be occupied by employees, furnishing – and in the case of the library – tens of thousands of books. “Substantial completion of the administration building is Aug. 24,” meaning that’s when the keys, so to speak, are due to be turned over to county officials by the contractor, said DavisCounty Planning Director Barry Burton. “It will take several weeks after that for everything to be moved in,” he said. Burton is overseeing all of the details from the county’s side on the three-story administration building and library, that will be more than double the size of the current 48-year-old facility. Library staff should be moving into their new space, southwest of their current building, in late September or the first weeks of October, at the latest, Burton said. The Davis County Library board toured the new space for the first time, Tuesday morning. For more information check out June 14 edition of Davis Clipper.
