CLEARFIELD - A new phase in the ongoing remodeling at Bountiful High School is set to begin this June.
At their March 18 meeting, members of the Davis School Board authorized the third phase of construction, which will involve the art wing of the school.
New ceilings, lighting, carpet, paint and air conditioning will be installed to match the work completed last year in the rest of the building. The improvements will take place in the photography studio and the art, jewelry, ceramics, band and choral rooms, according to information provided by the district.
The work is expected to be completed by August 15.
Besides the improvements at BHS, the board approved partial roof replacements at Farmington Junior High (built in 1982), Kaysville Junior High (built in 1979), and the District Administration Building (built in 1969).
Roofing materials will be rated for high wind conditions since damage occurred to existing roofs in the storm of December 2010. At Kaysville Junior High, seismic work will also be part of the roof replacement process.
