CENTERVILLE — Young volunteers have a chance to be recognized through the 2013 Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program.
Nominees should be between the ages of six and 18. Nominations must be made by individuals 21 years or older.
Two nominees from each of the 1,100 Kohl’s stores nationwide will be presented a $50 Kohl’s gift card, according to a press release. Regional scholarships worth $1,000 toward post-secondary education will also be given, and 10 national winners will receive $10,000 for their education. Another $1,000 will be donated to a nonprofit organization of their choice.
The scholarships and prizes are set up to recognize students who have made a positive impact on their communities, according to a press release from Kohl’s.
Previous winners ran projects to benefit the homeless and cancer patients, those serving in the military and needy families in India.
Nominations will be accepted Feb. 1 through March 15, at kohlskids.com.
