LAYTON -- My Girlfriend's Kitchen, Layton's "Make-it-Yourself Dinner Store" is celebrating its first birthday this month by donating a large number of its healthy, delicious family-sized dinners to worthy local causes. On Tuesday, local Davis County Girl Scout troops converged on the store to assist with assembling and delivering the meals to their destinations. Approximately 40 local Girl Scouts were on hand preparing family-sized servings of three of My Girlfriend's Kitchen's original recipes: Chinese Checkered Meatballs, SeÒor and SeÒora Chili Verde and Creamy Tomato Beef Bake.

"We're happy to have this opportunity to give back to the community and thankful to the local Girl Scouts for their help," said store owner Scott Rasmussen. It's so easy to prepare dinners at My Girlfriend's Kitchen that 8- to 13-year-old girls were able to do a great job, have some fun and do a good deed all at the same time."

The Girl Scout troops donating their time were able to select the recipients of the meals. Some of the dinners will be going to the Bountiful Community Church for feeding needy families. Other dinners will be given to Mackay Dee Hospital for families with loved ones in the hospital who are struggling with medical expenses.

In addition to Tuesday's event, My Girlfriend's Kitchen Layton will hold other birthday celebration events during March, including Free Seated Massages on Saturday, March 18 and Free Mini-Manicures on Saturday, March 25 for all customers assembling a Girlfriendtastic 12 in the store on those days.
