The anonymous donors who funded the splash pad at Heritage Park have struck again. Mayor Steve Hiatt announced at Tuesday’s city council meeting that after last weekend’s Art & Music in the Park, the family contacted him again about donating more money. Their original donation of $280,000 resulted in the splash pad and helped fund the restrooms nearby. They have proposed an additional $150,000 for a playground at the park, with a request that it be built this summer. “It never ceases to amaze me, the generosity of people in this community,” said Hiatt. He said he wanted to honor the family publicly, but they didn’t want recognition. “We drive by and we see the way people are using it and it makes us happy,” he quoted them as saying.
