SYRACUSE – Antelope Island State Park has a pair of activities for residents who want to head for the great outdoors after the Pioneer Day holiday.
A kayak tour in the lake will take place Friday, July 25, and a second Pioneer Day celebration will take place on Saturday, July 26.
A Kayak Tour: Life on the Lake event will start at 7 p.m. Friday. Kayakers will get to watch the sunset from the lake while also learning about the uniqueness of the wildlife there.

The tour will end at 9:30 p.m.
On Saturday the island will hold a Pioneer Day Celebration with games from 12-2 p.m. A guided tour of the Fielding Garr Ranch and run from 3-4 p.m.
There will also be a demonstration of wool processing by the Northern Utah Fiber Arts Guild from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The island will also host four other events Saturday including a nature hike, a Fielding Garr lecture, a Junior Ranger program for youth ages six to 12, and a Cowboy Poetry Series.
An entrance fee into the park is required even if the events are free of charge.
