LAYTON — A man threatened hospital staff and threatened to get in a shootout with police on at Davis Hospital Tuesday evening.
Emergency Room staffers called the police at about 7 p.m. after the man became upset and made threats while staffers were checking him in, according to a press release from Layton City Police.
After the call, the man left the hospital and crashed his car into a planter box, according to police. The man has been identified as Dennis Judd, 39.
A Davis County Sheriff’s deputy parked in the area chased Judd as he drove toward Antelope Drive, according to the release. Judd then got out of his car and Layton police arrived and arrested him.
Judd was booked into jail on suspicion of third-degree felonies threat of terrorism and evading police and also on suspicion of the hit and run, reckless driving and disorderly conduct.
