FARMINGTON — The Davis County Attorney’s Office has released a statement saying it will dismiss any cases in which Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Lisa Steed would be a significant witness.

Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings issued a press statement Thursday, saying that if there is sufficient evidence for a conviction independent of Steed, “the case might continue.

“However,” Rawlings, statement continued, “if Trooper Steed’s investigation or testimonial credibility is an issue at all to prove any element or constitutional component of a case, the case will be dismissed.”

Steed, who has been reprimanded by UHP officials, has had two cases involving her dismissed in court.

She continues to serve as a trooper and is currently assigned to Davis County.
