Region 3 PTA honors service of educators, volunteers

FARMINGTON — Educators and volunteers were honored for the ways they advocate for children at a presentation before the Davis School Board.

Rachel Peterson, president of PTA’s Region 3, presented a variety of awards to teachers, administrators and volunteers who, she said, “do so many wonderful things for schools and for children.”

 Those honored include Robin Anderson, a parent on the community council at Jennie P. Stewart Elementary, and Michele Strong, a parent serving on the community council at West Bountiful Elementary, who received the Spirit of PTA award.

 Outstanding educator awards went to Shon Feller of Woods Cross High, Pamala Coburn of Davis High, Scott Richardson of Sand Springs Elementary and Jenny York of Stewart Elementary.

 Joan Betts, assistant principal at Snow Horse Elementary, and Janet Sumner, principal of Wasatch Elementary, were named Utah PTA Outstanding School Administrators.

 For their service to students and schools, Stephanie Brienhold, a parent of students at Tolman Elementary and Barbara Hartman, a parent of students at Snow Horse, were give the PTA Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Volunteer.
