BOUNTIFUL – Registrations are being accepted for the 2013 version of the Wasatch Back leg of the Ragnar Relay race, which is celebrating its 10th year in 2013.
Additional team spots have recently become available, and organizers are asking for those wanting to run the relay to register as soon as possible.
This year’s relay will take place on Thursday, June 20 and Friday, June 21, and will be the first Thursday/Friday running format. The reason for changing the dates, according to organizers, is to “allow participants to run the Ragnar Relay and still have time to enjoy the weekend” in Park City, where the race ends.
Regular registration will run until Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Ragnar Relay’s website. Costs are as follows: a regular team is $1,480 ($123 per runner), an Ultra team is $800 ($133 per runner) and high school teams are $455 ($38 per runner). Late registration will be accepted until Sunday, March 31, with rates increasing to $1,660, $900 and $580 per team.
As of press time, the Ragnar Relay website reported the registration as 85 percent full.
The race will once again start in Logan and end in Park City, with a total distance of 192 miles.
