WOODS CROSS — After 43 years of teaching in Davis School District, Kent Russon, is “hanging up the hammer” and retiring, and will be honored at an open house May 24 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the WXHS library.

Most recently, Russon taught woodworking and millwork at Woods Cross, where he has been an educator since 1997.

Russon started his teaching career in 1966 at South Davis Junior High, but left South Davis after six months for the United States Army Reserve training. After basic training, he started teaching at Centerville Junior High and in 1991, was activated for six months during Deseret Storm. He served in the Reserves for 29 years.
