BOUNTIFUL — Utah's summer construction season isn't over quite yet.

Road projects continue through Davis County, and will cause delays and overnight lane closures.

A project is underway on I-215 near its interchange with I-15 in North Salt Lake. Just one lane will be open in each direction through mid-October while crews complete maintenance work on two bridges over the Union Pacific/UTA railroad corridor, according to a Utah Department of Transportation press release.

Drivers should expect minor delays during peak traffic periods, and those traveling from northern Utah to the airport should allow a few minutes of extra travel time or consider an alternate, such as the Legacy Parkway (SR-67).

Motorists may also expect delays Saturday, Sept. 21, and Sunday, Sept 22, as crews repair northbound sections on the Center Street and Main Street I-15 bridges in Woods Cross. Work will begin at 8 p.m. and conclude Sunday morning.

Resurfacing work on I-15 between 1500 South and Parrish Lane in Centerville will take place on Saturday night, Sept. 21, between 8 p.m. and Sunday morning. The work is part of an infrastructure preservation effort to apply cost-effective treatments before major rehabilitation is required, according to UDOT’s website.

In Layton, work is expected to continue through Thursday on roadway maintenance and rehabilitation work on I-15 from Hill Field Road to Riverdale Road.

Crews will be removing the pavement on the shoulders and auxiliary lanes of I-15 from Hill Field Road to Riverdale Road. An asphalt-based surface will then be placed on the shoulders and auxiliary lanes.

Additionally, single- and double-lane closures will occur between Hill Field Road and Riverdale Road. Lane restrictions will occur from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly.

A couple of projects will also close Clearfield streets over the next week.

Traffic between Depot Street and just east of State Street has been shifted to the south side of the road and will remain in that configuration through Thursday, Sept. 26, according to the press release. Depot Street has also been closed for reconstruction.

Additionally, the driveways from 700 South to the Kent’s Market shopping area on State Street are temporarily closed.

Access this area from State Street. However, the drive-through for the First National Bank remains open. Plan ahead for additional travel time with these closures.

The 193 Extension Project, in Clearfield, will begin Thursday, Sept. 26, with a seal coat of the cul-de-sac streets at 2000 West, 1000 West, and Main Street.

Additionally, 1550 West, 1000 West, 350 West, 500 West, 200 South, and H Street will be completed one direction at a time on both days. Once the roadway seal has been applied, crews will apply the permanent striping.
