10/10/1923 - 1/7/2013

Our beloved dad, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, and brother went home to his heavenly parents on January 7, 2013, at the age of 89. Ronald died from natural causes.

Ronald was born in Sunnyside on October 10, 1923 to Clinton J and Roseltha Pearce Broderick. He married Lorna Beth Jones on 27 September 1942. They were later sealed in the Manti temple on 21 March 1946, after dad returned home from World War II. They shared their lives together for 69 years until mom’s passing on November 23, 2011.

Dad loved mom and his children very much. He made many personal sacrifices on their behalf. Many times they went on camping, fishing, hunting and vacation trips. Dad and mom were active members of the LDS church. They served a church mission together for 4 1/2 years, traveling all over the continental US, doing microfilming for the Church History Department. Dad had many talents. He was a “Jack of all Trades”. He loved to create hs own inventions rather then just run down to the store to buy something he needed. Over the years, dad wrote many poems, song lyrics, etc.

Ronald is survived by his children: LeRoy (Sharilyn) Broderick, JeNan Page, Danny (Vicki) Broderick, Kevin (Laurie) Broderick, KaeLeen (John) Garrick, Patricia (Brad) Coburn; sister: Maurine Johnson, 28 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great grand children.

The family would like to express our special thanks for the loving care dad received from those at Alpha Hospice, Abundant Life Hospice, his son LeRoy and his granddaughters Kristy Sandgren and Mindy Godnick, and so many others.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 January, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the West Bountiful 6th Ward Chapel, 1750 N. 900 West, West Bountiful. There will be a viewing on Friday, 11 January, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and prior to the services at the church on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Ronald at www.russonmortuary.com.

Ron was such a great example to me. He always made me want to be better and do better. A great man. He will be missed.
