WOODS CROSS – Big game hunting permits have went on sale early last week, and buck and deer hunters lined up for their permits online.
Starting Monday, July 8, applications for three different bird hunting seasons will be accepted at the Division of Wildlife Resource offices.
The Fall’s sage grouse, sharp-tailed grouse and sandhill crane hunting permits will be available, and applications will be accepted through 11 p.m. on Monday, July 22.
To be included in the draw for any or all permits, apply through the division website, wildlife.utah.gov, or by calling the main office no later than 5 p.m.
Hunters who are not going to hunt this year for the trio of birds can still apply for a preference point for the 2014 hunt, however.
Hunters with preference points will have the best chance of obtaining a permit for the 2014 hunt.
Those that apply for a permit for this season will know whether they’ve received one by Monday, Aug. 5.
For more information, call the nearest division office, or call the Salt Lake City office at 801-538-4700.
