Fire at apartment kills dog
BOUNTIFUL — Investigators haven't determined the cause of a Bountiful apartment fire that broke out in a bedroom on Saturday evening.
The blaze killed a dog, but no humans were hurt.
South Davis Metro Fire Agency crews were called to the Mill Hollow Apartments, at 600 S. 100, East, at about 6 p.m., according to Chief Jim Rampton.
When fire crews arrived, there was a large amount of smoke coming from the apartment and flames coming from the bedroom. Rampton said two people reside at the apartment, but neither was home at the time.
That unit and five others were evacuated, mostly due to smoke damage. Residents of those five units were allowed back into their apartments later that evening.
