The Comcast Foundation honored 35 Utah students in total, with scholarships that ranged from $1,000 to $5,000.
Crista Rasband of Bountiful was awarded a $5,000 scholarship from the Foundation, and $1,000 awards went to Garrett Chatelain of Clearfield, Aubrey Taylor of Davis, Laura Simonsen of Layton, Morgan Drean of Northridge, Tanner Cady of Syracuse and Michael Carter of Woods Cross.
Students were selected who “strive to achieve their potential, who are catalysts for positive change in their communities, who are involve in their schools, and who serve as models for their fellow students,” according to a material provided by the organization.
The foundation was founded in 1999 to provide charitable support to local communities and to empower and enrich lives.
