Dear editor,
I attended two precinct “Meet the Candidates” meetings and was very disappointed. After a brief qualification statement by the school board candidates, we were told we would have a “one-on-one” meeting for questions and answers. What were the rest of us to do while waiting for our turn? The audience was not happy with that. We wanted to hear all the questions and all the answers. This tactic was simply crowd control.
Nevertheless, I was very impressed with Sandra Mountcastle and her administrative experience. She is willing to listen and address our concerns, which is more than the existing board does. I was also impressed with Larry Smith. He had done a lot of research.
The incumbents only wanted to talk you down, not give a forthright answer to your concern. The board’s concern seems to be only with the board.
We need a change!

Your wild accusations remind me of Senator Joe McCarthy and what the esteemed journalist Ed Murrow said of McCarthy
" We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason"
