The semi, carrying produce, and a passenger vehicle collided on northbound I-15 at 4:34 a.m., at Lund Lane in Centerville, according to a press release from the Utah Highway Patrol.
The collision caused the semi to enter the center median, where it rolled over a guardrail and came to a rest on its side in the southbound lanes. It blocked three lanes and a portion of a fourth. Traffic was diverted onto the shoulder, the release said.
The passenger car, a 2008 Suzuki, sustained significant front-end damage and was blocking one northbound lane.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Troopers believe fatigue on the part of the Suzuki's driver may have contributed to the accident, but initial information was limited.
It took several hours for the wreck to be cleared and traffic to resume.
