WOODS CROSS – Six girls’ soccer players from Davis, Viewmont and Bountiful high schools were named to the first team on this year’s 4A and 5A All-State teams.

On the list this season is Davis’ Abbey Mann and Ireland Dunn, Viewmont’s Abbie Flandro and Haley Johnson, Bountiful’s Christina Plank and Abby McConkie.

For Davis, Mann was one of the seniors that led the Lady Darts to a quarterfinal appearance in the 5A playoffs. She had three goals scored all season, her last coming in a 3-1 win over Northridge on Sept. 17.

In only her sophomore season, Dunn led the team in 2013 with 15 goals scored on the season after scoring seven goals as a freshman for Davis. Dunn scored two goals in five games this year.

Viewmont’s Flandro was the Lady Vikings’ most consistent player this season, knocking in 11 goals and picking up 11 assists for the state 5A finalists.

At the net, Johnson recorded 11 shutouts and allowed just 14 goals the entire year, helping Viewmont reach the finals for the fourth consecutive year.

Bountiful’s Plank was in control of the field for her entire senior season, scoring six goals and earning 21 assists for the Region 6 champions.

McConkie was a big defender this year for the Lady Braves, and was part of a back field that helped Charity Cole pick up seven shutouts at the net.

On the second team All-State list are Davis’ Madi Garlock and Emma Farley, and Viewmont’s Montana Tanner in 5A, and Bountiful’s Cole and Woods Cross’ Ashlyn Farnes and Kyra Fawcett in 4A.

Garlock was second on the Darts team in goals scored with 10, and Farley served in the back field as a solid defender.

Tanner scored three goals for the Lady Vikings, the last of which came in the Vikings’ 3-2 win over Lehi in the playoffs.

Farnes and Fawcett served as a one-two scoring combination for the Lady Wildcats. Farnes led the team with 18 goals scored, and Fawcett had 17 goals this season.

Honorable mentions are Davis’ Sara Beecher and Viewmont’s Bailee Hammond, Karrie Pead and Jana Wall in 5A, and Eden Jacobsen in 4A.
