FARMINGTON — Snow cancels Davis County Dem Meeting Saturday
The snowstorm that hit Davis County and beyond has resulted in the closure of schools and government offices.
This afternoon, The Davis County Democratic Party announced that it will also cancel a Saturday morning breakfast and central committee meeting scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 12.
The committee was also unable to find a speaker for the meeting.
The meeting will instead be held on Jan. 31, according to an email from the party. It will be at the county courthouse in Farmington.
The party is also encouraging its members to run for election, and has announced that the positions of county chair, vice chair, secretary and treasurer, as well as all legislative officers, will be up for election.
County chairman Brett Garner plans not to run for another term as chair, according to an email. He will be moving away from the county with his family.
Garner, 29, has been in the position since February of 2011.
