FARMINGTON — Construction has started on the Village Center retail portion of Station Park, which will include spaces for more retail stores and six restaurants.
The restaurant pavilions should be ready in time for the Christmas holiday shopping season, according to a press release.
The Farmington shopping center will include an H&M (Hennes & Maritz AB), the internationally known Swedish clothier. It will anchor one of three retail and commercial buildings, the release said.
Development owner CenterCal Properties, LLC, anticipates completing the stores, which surround the show fountain, by next year.
Two pavilions are also being built to the east and west of the fountain.
They will contain six “gourmet quick-serve eateries,” including a bakery, coffee shop, ethnic food options and snacks and treats stores.
In addition, two stores have opened in the “power center” in time for fall’s arrival.
They include Torrid, which offers “fun and flirty clothes” for plus-sized women, and Zumiez, which has “cutting edge” clothing, footwear, accessories, DVDs and goods for skating and snow sports.
A new Crazy 8 retail store is set to open in October, with “fashionable outfits at a great value” for children up to age 14.
A Star Nails franchise is due to open later this fall.
“So much is changing and you won’t recognize Station Park is you haven’t visited us for a while,” said Debby LaMotte, general manager.
