SALT LAKE CITY – The state 4A and 5A tennis semi-finals and finals will kick off Saturday morning, and plenty of local talent is scheduled to kick off both brackets.

In 5A, Davis will have a semi-finalist in all but one bracket, first singles. In second singles, Breezy Turley will take on Sophie Sorhaitz of Pleasant Grove in the morning matches. Jensen Emery will take on Brighton’s Ally Cowdell in third singles, and Kendall Sargent and Kira Sparks will take on Bingham’s Jaelyn Peterson and Amanda Balls. Second doubles will have Alyssa Sheehan and Liz Watkins take on Lone Peak’s Haley Schettler and Lauren Allen.

In 4A, the Lady Braves of Bountiful will also have representation in every bracket except one, the first doubles bracket. At first singles, Kanella Adamson will take on Timpview’s Kate Cusick, and Mariah Miller will face off against Highland’s Carol Foote in second singles. Third singles will see Sara Jones take on Skyline’s Caroline Cantera in order to move on to the afternoon finals. Cloe Stocking and Sara Bennion will combine to take on Noel Bell and Sarah Cassell of Skyline.

Winners will move onto the afternoon finals in their respective brackets. The tennis finals will remain at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City, located at 900 S. 700 East.
