KAYSVILLE — In one field, teddy bears were being treated for broken legs and ear infections.

In another, families were checking out a rescue helicopter.

In one part of the park, high school students were teaching about fire safety in a skit, in another, kids were promising to always wear their seatbelts when in cars.

The 12th Annual Safe Kids Families Involved Together (F.I.T.) Fair held last Saturday, was a chance for families throughout Davis County to learn more about health and safety while having fun.

At over 40 booths, kids learned about eating nutritious food, being safe in the water, wearing helmets when riding bikes or skating and staying active.

Intermountain Medical Group’s Family Medicine had a popular booth to help kids become comfortable with doctors and hospitals – a teddy bear clinic.

Each child received a teddy bear, then were asked to name it and name it’s medical concern.

Pinkilicious, Mario Luiji, Angry Bird and Billy Bob Joe VIII came through with problems ranging from broken arms from jumping on the bed, to ear infections, to the ill effects that follow swallowing a puzzle piece.
