BOUNTIFUL — Everyone’s got their own favorite way of celebrating the holiday.
This July 4, however, you can mix and match. Several cities are offering Independence Day events this Thursday, giving residents the chance to pick whether they want a parade, fireworks or something more.
Centerville’s parade begins at 9 a.m., starting at Chase Lane and following last year’s route to Pages Lane. Kaysville’s parade starts at 11 a.m. at the DATC, following last year’s route. The entire length of Main Street is designated the water section.
Parades also begin at 10:30 a.m. in both West Bountiful and Layton. Both parades follow the same routes as last year.
Only Layton and Kaysville saved their fireworks displays for Thursday night. Kaysville’s launching area is at the DATC, and the fireworks are visible on either the DATC or the Davis High grounds.
Layton’s fireworks display is visible in the skies over Layton Commons Park. Those who are interested can purchase tickets to The New American Philharmonic Symphony at the Ed Kenley Amphitheatre, where the fireworks are visible from the seats. Cannoneers will also perform.
Centerville will hold a police auction at noon at Founder’s Park. The auction raises money for the city’s police department.
Layton has an all-star baseball game starting at 9 a.m., followed by Dutch oven demonstrations at noon. Both events happen at Layton Commons Park.
