Sixth graders challenged each other to race the fastest, jump the farthest or throw a paper plate/discus the farthest, in an Olympic-styled competition to celebrate the culmination of their study of Greek and Roman times. Dressed in sheets accented with everything from rope to duct tape, the Knowlton Elementary students were part of teams based on Greek city states. “It’s fun to compete,” said one. “It’s fun to pretend to be in the Olympics.”
