BOUNTIFUL –  Sugar cookies are so popular that fresh ones are baked every day at Beehive Bakery & Cafe.

They’re among the baked goods and sandwich offerings served up at the new business at 463 S. Main. They’re in part of the space that formerly housed Inkley’s.

Ryan and Celeste Jolley own the business, which is a family affair, he said.

“We wanted a business that was more family-friendly,” Ryan Jolley said. Previously, he owned a construction cleanup business.

It was doing very well, but he said the working atmosphere wasn’t always the best. He also wanted to come to work and not have to worry about wearing a hard hat and working in the cold.

Prior to opening, the couple worked at perfecting a different recipe every day, he said. Now they have about 40 pastry recipes. A rotating selection from among those recipes are baked each day, always including some kind of cheesecake Danish as well as a raspberry flavored or some other kind of bread pudding.

For sandwiches, a Focaccia bread is baked along with French Country, as well as a cinnamon swirl. Other breads will be added soon, Jolley said.

The store is open 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays. Starting March 1, breakfast will be served on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. It will include an egg waffle creation, French toast as well as breakfast sandwiches and Greek yogurt pancakes.
