BOUNTIFUL — Today is the last day to register at the $40 level for the South Davis Sweethearts race, sponsored by the South Davis Recreation Center.
The race will be on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the center, 550 N. 200 West. If you register today, your price will be $30. After today, the price jumps $10.
The Sweetheart’s 5K portion of the run will start at 9 a.m. and the Cupid’s 1K will start at 9:45 a.m. The 5K course is a rectangular one that goes South on 200 West, East to 400 North and then back to the center along 400 West. The 1K is a lap around the center.
Couples or singles can join the race. For couples, a fastest and slowest couple will be get prizes as will a Best Dressed couple. Singles can compete in Best Cupid, Most Red and Most Pink categories. All participants will get a T-shirt, race medallion and race bag.
You can sign up for the center’s 2013 series of five races for $120. The Sweetheart’s race is the first, to be followed by a Splash-n-Sprint Triathlon, HandCart Days Races, a Labor Day Triathlon and Thanksgiving Day Races.
